Frequently Asked Questions

How do I search for resources near me?

Use the search bar at the top of the homepage. Enter a keyword (e.g., "wheelchair accessible housing"), then enter your location or allow AccessibilityHub to access your GPS location. Click "Search Near Me" to see nearby results. You can further narrow your search by filtering by category (Housing, Transportation, Medical, Food) or specific accessibility features.

What does "real-time availability" mean?

We update resource availability statuses throughout the day based on current operations. If a housing resource is "Available," units are currently open for new applications. If it's "Limited," spaces may be filling up. If it's "Full," you may need to call ahead or get on a waiting list. This helps you make real-time decisions about where to go.

How do you verify accessibility information?

We partner directly with disability organizations and conduct periodic audits of listed resources. Each resource's accessibility features are verified by staff or disabled community members before listing. We also accept user reports of inaccurate information to keep our database current. If something doesn't match what's listed, please let us know!

Can I save my favorite resources?

Yes! Click the heart icon on any resource card or detail page to save it. Your saved resources are stored locally on your device and can be accessed anytime. You can also share resources with others using the share button.

How do I contact a resource?

Each resource detail page includes contact information. You can call, email, visit their website, or use the map to get directions. Most resources also have accessible appointment scheduling or online inquiry forms linked from their pages.

Is AccessibilityHub free to use?

Yes, AccessibilityHub is completely free to search and use. We believe access to information about accessible resources should not be a barrier in itself.

What does each accessibility feature mean?

Wheelchair accessible: Building entrances, restrooms, and common areas meet ADA standards. Service animal welcome: Trained service animals are permitted inside. Accessible parking: Designated spaces for people with disabilities. Elevators: Buildings with multiple floors have working elevators. Audio/visual announcements: Transit systems or facilities provide both audio and visual announcements. Interpreter services: Sign language, tactile, or other interpretation available. Hearing loop / Assistive listening: Technology to help people with hearing loss.
